Marché Mövenpick wins a Red Dot Design Award

The Red Dot joins the iF Design Award, the German Design Award and the German Brand Award as the fourth international prize to be won by the brand identity we developed for Marché Mövenpick.

Prestigious competition

One of this year’s highly sought-after Red Dots for Communication Design has been won in the “Brand Design” category by our work for Marché Mövenpick restaurants. The “Red Dot Award: Communication Design” competition is famed throughout the world, with designers and companies from no less than 46 nations taking part this year.

Unmistakable illustration style

Marché Mövenpick’s distinctive visual identity and communications that have been carefully tailored to its sophisticated, urban target audience have once again caught the eye of an expert jury. The project’s characteristic features include the Marché Mövenpick logo, concise typography and in particular, the ubiquitous, lovingly executed line drawings by the Swedish artist Klas Herbert; these underscore the “hand-made” aspects of Marché Mövenpick and ensure high brand recognition.

Award Gala and Winners’ Exhibition in Berlin

The winners received their prizes on 4 November 2016 in Berlin. Two of them being our Creative Director, Fabian Bertschinger and Carolin Versteeg, Chief Marketing Officer of Marché International (picture below). For the sixth occasion the Red Dot Gala has been staged in the German capital’s Konzerthaus – after which a Designers’ Night event took place at the E-Werk club to honour the Red Dot award-holders. For one night only, this was also an exclusive opportunity to catch the victors’ “Design on Stage” exhibition, in which our prize-winning work for Marché Mövenpick was also featured.
